Early in his career, our principal, David Berman (FGDC, R.G.D.), developed a lasting interest in developing clear information architecture and plain language and plain design. His work includes award-winning projects in the application of clear design and language for the Ontario Environmental Farm Plan Workbook and HRDC’s pilot project to republish the laws of Canada to be accessible to all Canadians (white paper). Other projects in this area include work for the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency, the Region of Ottawa-Carleton and the Ontario Literacy Coalition.
More recently he has provided consulting in the development of information architecture, metadata strategy, usability testing, and controlled vocabulary implementation for a variety of Canadian federal government Web sites.
David also provides accessibility expertise to IBM and various government agencies and departments on the implementation of common look and feel, including expertise on Treasury Board of Canada’s Common Look and Feel policy.
