Use the Done For Now And Finish Later command (Ctrl+F6) if you began an item and realize you need to finish it at another time and still wish to record time spent so far.
If you began an item and need to finish it at another time, you can use the Done For Now & Finish Later command (Ctrl+F6) to mark the item as done, and have an undone duplicate of the item added to your schedule also with the ampersand added (for you to work on at another time).
Here's how:
Highlight the item on your schedule (as the command will operate on the highlighted item, not the one most recently Started).
Note: If the item had been Started, then the Duration of the duplicated item is reduced by the duration of the Done item (unless this would result in the Duration being less than one minute, in which case the Duration is set to one minute).
Note: If you have Hide Done Items enabled (in Other Settings or from the View Menu), you won't be able to see the attempted item (since it is a Done item) even though it is there; you will be able to see it when you disable the Hide Done Items setting again.
Tip: If you'd rather record a failed attempt to complete an item, you may wish to use the Record Failed Attempt command instead.
Tip: If you've been interrupted and intend to continue with the task immediately after the interruption, you may wish to use the Interrupt command instead.
