Frequently Asked Questions

Is TimeTo™ free?
TimeTo™ is indeed free if you want it to be, in its Light Mode. While in Light Mode, registration is optional (i.e. if you wish to support the project, we welcome your donation). Advanced users often switch to the Pro Mode, and if you stay in Pro Mode beyond the evaluation period, we expect you to register. The evaluation period for Pro Mode is over 30 days long (how long depends upon how actively you use TimeTo™). You'll never lose any data, since the data structure is identical for both Light Mode and Pro Mode (which you can switch between as often as you'd like with just one click). TimeTo™ is charityware: your registration dollars go to your choice of "charity" or "feature improvement".

Even though my day is "overbooked", TimeTo™ is still showing some slots of unused space in my Day View. Why?
There are several situations that can contribute to this being the case:

TimeTo™ automatically launches when I start my computer, and I'd rather it didn't. Can I change this?

Yes, to stop TimeTo™ from automatically launching when you start your computer, go to Other Settings (from the Settings menu) and uncheck the Start TimeTo When I Start Windows checkbox.

To use TimeTo™ with my Android, Windows Phone, Windows Mobile (Pocket PC), iPhone, Palm device or Blackberry, do I have to install TimeTo™ onto my device?

No. Install TimeTo™ on your Windows computer and TimeTo™ will send information to your device upon request. For instructions on how to set this up, read about Synchronization Settings.

How can I see my historical (done) items and their notes?

In order to be able to view items that you have marked done, make sure that Hide Done Items (in Other Settings) is unchecked.

Does TimeTo™ contain a contact management system?

No, not yet. But we're thinking about it, and we welcome your suggestions on what features it could include.

Why doesn't the Balance Day command re-order my items based upon the Priority of my items, like Balance All Days does?

There are two reasons: the main one is that we are concerned that if a user manually overrides Balance Day's opinion by dragging an item to a different position on today's schedule, we are going to confuse and annoy them by moving the item back on them within the next minute (since most users have Balance Day set to run every minute). The second reason is that Balance All Days can do this for you, and you can set how often it will run automatically in Other Settings (from the Settings menu).

Why does the Priority Rank automatically change on me when I modify an item that is in Priority Tier A?
