Use the Scroll Up command (from the Navigate menu, or press Ctrl+PgUp) to scroll views up without changing which item is selected. In the Month View, this causes the Month View to move one week earlier.
Alternatively, you can use the wheelmouse of your mouse (or equivalent features on other devices such as a laptop) to get the same behavior.
