In developing the identity for Culture.ca, the culture portal for Canada’s Department of Canadian Heritage, we decided we’d prefer to use a Canadian-designed typeface, and yet could not find one suitable. So we were commissioned to design a full Adobe ISO-compliant custom typeface for both TrueType and PostScript for both Windows and Macintosh operating systems.

We produced this custom typography for the identifier of the Calgary Folk Music Festival, based upon historic “out of sorts” wood type alphabet characters in use during Calgary’s pioneer years.
