Students and faculty at SCAD working on their next revitalization project.
Today city planners, SCAD faculty, and urban and graphic designers from all over the world met to discuss some ways to revitalize the 22-block stretch of Waters Avenue in Savannah. And once the planning is done, the group plans to present these opportunities to the city and the community. …and hope they could move them forward to fix up at area of businesses and families.
We live in a time when everyone’s a designer. And the future of civilization is our common design project. There’s never been more hope, because we have these communication tools that allow us to collaborate in ways we could never collaborate before.
But at the same time, things have never been more fragile. So there’s an urgency.
The conference is part of the SCAD project Hands-on Use for Design for Social Change.
