How To Use TimeTo™ With TimeWise™

If you use TimeWise™, here are some ways to integrate TimeTo™ with TimeWise.

Launch TimeWise from TimeTo™:

Use the TimeWise command, from the Tools menu, to launch TimeWise from within TimeTo™.

Export Done Items from TimeTo™ to TimeWise multiuser edition:

If you have licensed the multiuser edition of TimeWise, you can use TimeTo's ability to create an export file of all done items in order to then import that file into TimeWise. This will save you having to repost the time or timesheets manually in TimeWise.

To do so, notice how, if you check the Extreme Log checkbox in Other Settings, TimeTo™ creates a file called TimeToTimeWise.txt . This file contains one record each time an item is Done in TimeTo™. The file is a comma-delimited file, ready for appending to TimeWise's time charges database, assntime.dbf . For full instructions for import using TimeWise's TimeTool utility and a custom .prg process, contact TimeWise technical support.

Note that, in order for the export/import to work properly, you must:

• have the first eight characters of each TimeTo™ users importing to TimeWise be unique;
• make sure the first eight characters of each TimeTo User Name corresponds to their first eight characters of the corresponding Employee ID in TimeWise;
• ensure that your TimeWise installation includes a time category in the Miscellaneous category with a Sort Code of 01, as this is the category that will be used for incoming time from TimeTo™.
