Choose the Shorter Duration command (from the Balance menu, or press Alt+LeftArrow) to reduce the duration of the highlighted item. Each time you select the command, the Duration drops by 5 minutes (unless you have selected the Alt+ Increments 1 Minute setting in Other Settings, in which case the duration drops by 1 minute). The Duration cannot be less than zero, so if the duration is less than 5 minutes already, then choosing the command changes the Duration to zero minutes.
