Use the Backup command (from the File menu) to make a backup of all your TimeTo™ information files to another folder or drive.
The Backup commands copies your TimeTo™ schedule information (includes all related files, such as notes and preferences) onto another drive (such as a USB flash drive, CF card, or a network drive).
If there is not enough space for all of the files on the drive you specify, then TimeTo™ will prompt you to continue on another drive if you'd like.
Tip: To save you time, TimeTo™ doesn't bother copying a file during Backup if there is already a file of the same name with identical date and time stamps in the destination drive. Therefore, don't be surprised if the process goes more quickly than seems likely if you repeat it with the same destination drive.
Although most of your information is stored in your timedata.pak file, there are other files which may contain information important enough to you that you may also wish to make a backup of (using the Backup command from TimeTo's File menu, or using other software) if you are transferring or safeguarding your TimeTo™ installation. Here are those other files:
*Annual archive files have file names of the form Timedata.x07 or Timedata.x11 where the last two digits indicate the last two digits of the year. As soon as a past date has all its items either marked done or brought forward, all the done items for that date are written to the annual archive file. These files are in a special encrypted format (not the same format as the TimeTo schedule file called Timedata.pak) and so can only be used by TimeTo™.
Tip: In releases of TimeTo™ earlier than September 10, 2006, the settings stored in TimeTo.ini were instead stored in the [TimeTo] section of your c:\windows\win.ini file. Since then, TimeTo continues to mirror your settings in that location, for automatically helping set up a second TimeTo on the same computer, automatically healing a lost TimeTo.ini file, and also maintaining backward compatibility for users of Above&Beyond software).
Another simpler approach is to perhaps use third-party software to simply backup all files and subfolders in the TimeTo folder, but exclude the TimeToErrorLog.txt file, since it can sometimes get quite large.
If you wish to permanently move TimeTo™ from one computer to another, we recommend you use the Transfer To Other PC command instead. Once you are confident that TimeTo™ is successfully transferred to its new location, you can use the Windows Control Panel called Add Or Remove Programs (Programs and Features in Windows 8 or Windows 7 or Windows Vista) to completely remove TimeTo™ from the first computer.
