Amongst our most challenging and proudest projects, our work on the Canadian Tribute to Human Rights has spanned over twenty years! From the initial fundraising support to setting type to Eiko Emori’s specifications … from the commemorative fundraising book on human rights to the opening ceremony where the Dalai Lama signed my copy.

And then our design of the language plaques in two dozen aboriginal tongues, many of which no font existed for. We digitized special fonts for the Mac, optimized for the unique character sets, as well as for production in carved stone.

And it’s all worth it when we visit the monument, on the lawn of the courthouse on Elgin Street in Ottawa, and read the phrases “Rights, Dignity, Equality” in so many First Nations languages.
