Peachpit Press, a division of Pearson, the world’s largest educational publisher, wanted to proudly publish a book on design and social responsibility, in alignment with their formative roots from San Francisco in the 1960s. AIGA Press also published the book. They were very pleased with the design and content, as indicated by the foreword that AIGA’s own executive director chose to write.

In 2009 we wrote and designed the book.

The impact of the book exceeded expectations, with translations into Korean, Russian, Chinese, Indonesian, and braille (yes, braille is spelled lower case!) … with Russian, Malay, and Spanish in the works.

Meanwhile the original English run sold out, and a 2013 edition was released with updated content, improved print specs, and printed in vegetable inks on 100% post-consumer papers from Mohawk.

Here’s what Mohawk had do say about it: press release | interview.

There’s more about the book and its impact on the Do Good book subsite.
